Looking forward to Jacksonville, the first of four more “must-win” games (there’s that cliche again) if the Browns are heading for the playoffs:
Expect Mark Brunell to start, despite the sore middle finger on his throwing hand. Coach Tom Coughlin ain’t saying who his backup would be.
Speaking of Coughlin, the only head coach the Jaguars have known, I expect he’ll pulling out all the stops against the Browns. Losing this home game would seriously damage his chances at keeping his job. Looks like he’s already lost a lot of local support.
With Courtney Brown most likely out with a bum knee, Mark Word has a chance for another big game. He’ll be lining up against rookie Mike Pearson.
With Dennis Northcutt out, I’m hoping we see more plays with both William Green and Jamel White on the field.
I think a reverse to Quincy Morgan early in the game would help get him used to touching the football again, and it would help prevent the Jags from overpursuing.
Jacksonville is a two-point favorite, but we all learned last week how wrong the oddsmakers can be.
