“playing without passion” … “Their eyes are blank” … “beaten up mentally and physically” … “out of sync” … Couch “can’t wait for this season to be over” … and then this indictment of the leadership, which would be downright damning without the conditional future tense:

“Davis carries himself with a great deal of confidence, maybe too much. That personality is not rubbing off on his players. Unless there is a turnaround, and soon, the players are going to quit believing in the staff, and that’s a two-way street.”
