Running back Earnest Graham has been signed to the Browns’ practice squad. The 5’9″, 225-pound rookie was a four-year starter at Florida. The free agent signee by Tampa Bay hurt his shoulder during a pre-season game and was released with an injury settlement (on the same day the Bucs also cut former Brown Terry Kirby).

A few draft sites projected him as a late-round pick, but he slid off the board. Seems he’s a tough power runner, not very fast or elusive, but versatile enough to run, catch, block, and play special teams.

Apparently the Browns have had their eye on him for a while, but his interest didn’t seem to perk up until William Green’s troubles surfaced.

To make room for Graham on the practice squad, defensive lineman Thomas Pittman, another ex-Gator, was reportedly released.

In case you lost count, 10 players on the Browns’ 53-man roster played college football in the Sunshine State.
