HALL OF FAME JERK

So the stress has gotten to Wheelie’s Old Man, and he lashed out at the media in a most unpleasant fashion. Well, next time this Hall of Famer needs a few more questions to get his competitive blood boiling, he can spray some spittle in response to these:

  • When your son was drafted, you said he already knew more about contracts from the Postons than you knew your entire playing career. Was Kellen aware that his contract prohibited riding motorcycles?
  • You are very keen to protect Kellen’s right to privacy. Do you plan any action against whoever leaked word of his torn ACL to the media, or are you satisfied that the nature of his other injuries were never definitively disclosed?
  • Do you feel that the video from parking lot, recorded without Kellen’s permission, violated his right to privacy?
  • What, if anything, have you taught your son about the role fans play in making a sport successful and the responsibilities of a pro athlete toward his fans?
  • You said that Kellen made “a mistake.” In his most recent statement, the only mistake he mentioned was “to attempt to learn to ride a motorcycle without a professional instructor in a controlled environment.” Do you agree that’s the only thing he did wrong, or were you referring to some other mistake?
  • You complained that the media have been treating your son like “a piece of property.” Can you elaborate on exactly how your son’s treatment is comparable to the plight of human slaves?
  • How much of a salary cap burden do the Browns deserve to absorb because of Kellen’s absence? Will he be quick to return of all bonus money attributable to this year’s cap, so that while he’s getting better, the team can too?
  • We’re all hoping for a quick and full recovery from whatever so-called injuries Kellen allegedly sustained. How long do you think before Kellen is back up and behind the handlebars again?
