From Butch Davis’ press conference:

–He’s suspended William Green for this weekend’s KC game. (And yes, his shoulder is supposedly healthy enough that he wouldn’t have missed the game anyway.)

–Kelly Holcomb is healthy enough to be declared the starting QB.

–Andre Davis will get the starting nod at WR, ahead of Kevin Johnson. Bad call. It should be Quincy Morgan getting benched, not KJ.

–Running back Lee Suggs practiced in shoulder pads for the first time as a Brown today. Davis said the clock has now been started on Suggs and WR Frisman Jackson, meaning that the team has 21 days to either activate them or declare them out for the season.

Also, it’s been reported that Carmen Policy has quietly sold his 10% interest in the team to the Lerner family. This is sure to fuel more discussion about how long Policy — and by extension, Butch Davis — will stick around in Cleveland. Publicly, at least, owner Randy Lerner is playing a back-seat role.
