Coach Butch Davis acknowledged that if the Browns had to field a team right now, the QB would be Nate Hybl. Makes me wonder again about Josh Booty:
— Was his September release really due to a numbers game — i.e. a third quarterback being a luxury, not a necessity — or what it something about Booty himself?
— If it was purely numbers, why wasn’t he re-signed upon Holcomb’s injury, rather than carrying the rookie Hybl on the roster as the third QB?
— And why has Booty, who had the strongest arm among any of the team’s QBs in training camp, not been signed by another team, such as Denver, which lost their top two QBs?
So far this season, the 32 NFL teams have seen 55 different QBs in action. I pray Hybl will not be added to that list.
