I just listenened to the weekly chat with Jim Donovan. Not too much news prior to the start of training camp, but he did note that contract talks with Dennis Northcutt are going well. Obviously, signing him to a long-term deal would be a great boost.

Also, Jim voiced some concern about the fact that the rookies draftees are all unsigned so close to training camp. Restructuring some contracts (i.e. Courtney Brown) will probably be necessary, but don’t expect Tim Couch’s to be among them.

Josh Booty is basically a lock for the third QB spot, according to Donovan, who said he has some “amazing skills” and the best arm among the team’s quarterbacks.

And this comment from chat moderator Joe Noga was made parenthetically, but it speaks volumes: “We’re never going to get a straight answer from Butch Davis about anything.”
