Yesterday’s wild-card games give me even more reason to hope that the Browns’ Super Bowl bid is as viable as anyone’s. The Jets and the Falcons absolutely dominated their games, and the Browns defeated both of them this year.
Lots of good pre-game hype in the newspapers this morning about today’s big game, the best of which is this Plain Dealer story relating some interesting anecdotes from Greg Pruitt, Earnest Byner, Doug Dieken, and others on the Browns-Steelers rivalry.
I’m not going to venture any pre-game predictions this time. I can see this game going 43-0 either way. Looks like some snow will fall, which tends to result in a slug-it-out trench warfare type of game, rather than a fantasy-footballer’s-fantasy shoot-out. Don’t forget about Jamel White as a change-of-pace option. He seems to be the forgotten man, but he’s already hurt the Steelers this year, and he’s a proven “mudder” based on his sure-footed success in snowy Lambeau last season.
