He may not be the next Junior Seau, or even Nate Wayne, but welcome aboard to Barry Gardner, who signed a two-year deal yesterday. A four-year veteran and former second-round pick out of Northwestern, Gardner can play middle or outside linebacker, and he has excelled on special teams for the Eagles. He also seems like a man of decent character with a team orientation, which is no small consideration when you reflect upon other free-agent signees such as Dwayne Rudd and Mike Sellers.
