Well lookie what I found going through my old notes: a preseason prediction by Sports Illustrated’s Michael Silver. Guess who he though would be named the league’s MVP:

Browns quarterback Kelly Holcomb who, with three quality receivers and an airtight grasp of coordinator Bruce Arians’ offense, has the potential to put up enormous numbers.

I’m not even going to ask which three of the receivers he thought were “quality.”
