Apparently the Browns’ interest in former Bears linebacker Warrick Holdman does indeed signal that the team is not satisfied with the status quo at the position (see two posts down). Why do I say this? This little tidbit, which I hadn’t heard before: “Jessie Armstead shunned an offer to be a starting linebacker with the Cleveland Browns to re-join [Carolina coach John] Fox, his defensive coordinator in New York.” Armstead, of course, is a four-time Pro Bowler, released by the Redskins in a salary-cap move. Was I not paying attention, or was the Browns’ interest in him kept under the radar?
