Oh damn. Ross Verba’s bicep is ruptured. In addition to being a terribly painful injury for Verba to suffer through, this means that our best offensive lineman, playing the line’s most important position — left tackle — will miss the entire season. This bodes ill for both the passing game — because a lesser player, probably Barry Stokes, must protect the QB’s blind side — and the running game, because the sixth, seventh, and eighth linemen on the depth chart have not proven they can make a difference for William Green and Company. It’s disappointing, because it looked like the line was really starting to gel with Verba, Stokes, Faine, O’Hara, and Tucker from left to right.
