Terry Pluto of the Akron Beacon Journal provides a fine warm human interest story on the late, great Cleveland broadcaster Nev Chandler, whose 1994 passing was the first of three great losses for Cleveland sports fans, the others being the 1994 baseball strike that spoiled the Indians’ best year and the 1995 decision to move the Browns franchise to Baltimore. “I’m glad he didn’t have to see what happened to the Browns,” Chandler’s son said, “It would have eaten him up.”
